Behavioral Health Internship

Arkansas Support Network is looking for motivated and compassionate students to join our team as Behavioral Health Interns. This internship offers hands-on experience for students pursuing degrees in fields such as Psychology, Social Work, Human Development and Family Studies, Counseling, Sociology, Behavioral Science, Public Health, Education, Special Education, and other human services disciplines. Interns will work directly with the individuals supported by our organization and collaborate with a diverse group of professionals to enhance mental health and improve overall quality of life through person-centered supports.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct Personal Outcome Measure (POM) interviews with individuals receiving services to assess the quality of support in areas such as health, safety, relationships, rights, goals, and employment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Behavior Prevention and Intervention Plans (BPIPs) to promote positive behavior supports, reduce challenging behaviors, and increase quality of life.
  • Collect and document behavioral data to support individualized planning and evaluate progress.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and multidisciplinary teams to review outcomes, develop action steps, and participate in support planning meetings.
  • Observe and shadow professionals across the behavioral health department to gain exposure to various aspects of behavioral health services.
  • Engage in training, supervision, and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to a supportive, person-centered environment while learning from experienced professionals.

What We're Looking For:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program in one of the related fields above and eligible to receive academic credit.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate, adaptable, and eager to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Arkansas driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Schedule: Part-time (up to 20 hours per week). Schedule may vary to meet both organizational and academic needs.

Pay: $11.00/hour | Weekly Pay
