Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Location: Smackover, Arkansas
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; Friday 12:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. (consistent weekday schedule)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and engaging Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an exceptional Member with a great sense of humor, strong attention to detail, and a natural ability to connect with others. The Member communicates effectively, advocates for personal needs and preferences, and has a strong support network.
The Member enjoys community activities, outdoor experiences, watching basketball and football, and playing video games. The Member attends one in-person college class Monday–Thursday from 1:00 p.m.–2:20 p.m., is enrolled in two online classes, and utilizes transportation services to and from campus. The Member also participates in church on Sundays with family.
The Member requires total care assistance, including support with all activities of daily living. Candidates must be comfortable providing hands-on personal care in a respectful and dignified manner.
This role provides individualized, strengths-based support in home and community settings to promote independence, dignity, and meaningful community involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide total care assistance and personal support with daily living activities.
Provide community access, transportation, skill-building, and recreational supports.
Assist with budgeting, technology use, and social engagement.
Support participation in college coursework and community activities.
Implement positive behavior supports and follow care plans.
Document services accurately using agency-approved systems.
Collaborate with the support team to ensure quality care.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must be 18+ and pass required background checks.
Valid Arkansas driver’s license, current insurance, and safe driving record.
Ability to use mobile devices/computers for documentation.
Reliable, flexible, and team-oriented.
Comfortable providing total care and hands-on assistance.
Preferred:
Experience in direct support, healthcare, or human services roles.
CNA or PCA experience strongly preferred.
CPR/First Aid or behavior support training (if applicable).
