Who We Are:
Arkansas Support Network (ASN) is a licensed disability services provider serving individuals across Arkansas, with offices in Springdale, Fort Smith, Camden, and Jonesboro.
We partner with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, healthcare providers, schools, foundations, businesses, and families to provide effective, least-restrictive supports that help individuals with disabilities live meaningful lives in environments they and their families choose.
About the Role:
We are seeking compassionate and reliable DSPs to provide hands-on support to an adult consumer in their home and community. This role focuses on promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life through person-centered care.
DSPs empower individuals to live in a home of their choice, access community resources, attend school or work, and participate in activities that are meaningful to them.
About the Individual You Will Support:
This individual is a school-age child who requires patient, consistent, and hands-on support. The individual benefits from visual schedules, gentle redirection, and reassurance during transitions or new situations. Staff must provide close supervision at all times due to safety concerns, including elopement and limited situational awareness.
The individual enjoys being outdoors and responds well to positive reinforcement and structured routines. At times, the individual may experience behavioral escalations when overwhelmed or frustrated, so staff should remain calm, supportive, and attentive to needs. Support also includes seizure monitoring, medication assistance, and promoting independence with daily living skills.
Personality and Strengths:
The individual is an active and outdoors-oriented child who enjoys walking and spending time outside. The individual responds well to calm, supportive staff and benefits from structure, consistency, and predictable routines. The individual shows potential for growth in independence, especially with encouragement and hands-on guidance. The individual engages best when staff use positive reinforcement, visual supports, and patient redirection. The individual is capable of building trust and connection with familiar, reliable staff, which helps them feel safe and supported in their environment.
