Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Location: Jonesboro, Arkansas
Job Type: Part-Time | Weekend Shift
Pay Range: $12.50 - $14.00 / hour

Available Shifts:
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Saturday 8:00 PM – Sunday 8:00 AM (Overnight Shift)
Sunday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (may extend to 10:00 PM)

Available Shifts:(Shift assignments may vary based on individual needs and scheduling.)

Arkansas Support Network (ASN) is a licensed disability services provider serving individuals across Arkansas, with offices in Springdale, Fort Smith, Camden, and Jonesboro. We partner with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, healthcare providers, schools, foundations, businesses, and families to provide effective, least-restrictive supports that help individuals with disabilities live meaningful lives in environments they and their families choose.

About the Individual you will Support:

This individual enjoys a calm, supportive environment and finds joy in spending time outdoors, listening to music, and being around children and family. They enjoy celebrating holidays and special occasions with loved ones, sharing meals together, and participating in meaningful daily routines.

The individual thrives best in quiet settings and may become overwhelmed in loud or highly stimulating environments. They benefit from patient, hands-on support from caring staff who can assist with daily living activities, mobility, communication, and personal care needs.

Support staff will assist with community outings, daily routines, meal preparation, and encouraging engagement in enjoyable activities such as walks, music, and time outside. Strong communication skills, attentiveness, and compassion are important for this role, as the individual communicates non-verbally and relies heavily on staff support throughout the day.

The ideal caregiver will be dependable, gentle, observant, and committed to providing person-centered support that promotes comfort, dignity, safety, and overall well-being.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED (or 1 year relevant experience)
• 18 years or older
• Required to pass background checks and required clearances
• Flexibility to work weekend schedules
• Reliable transportation and valid drivers license.

Working Conditions:

• Work occurs in people's homes, community settings, and agency sites; may include standing, walking, and driving.
• May involve exposure to challenging behaviors and physical tasks; agency provides training and supports.
• May involve lifting or using equipment to facilitate mobility.
• May involve assisting with personal care.
